We designed a concept for the Venice Naval Museum competition showcasing the fluidity of water through architectural design whilst combining the internal structure of naval ships. It was important to use locally sourced materials and also included them in the design, an example being the timber roofs being sourced only 2 hours away from Venice. Venice is known as a historic maritime city where entrepreneurs come together and this concept aims to combine historic and innovation. Recent research suggests historic content aids creativity and fosters innovation. New ways of living and working interact with the fluid border of the Arsenale.
